Last week we celebrated Rosh Hashanah and the Feast of Trumpets. Blow those trumpets in Zion! Today we are finishing up the 10 Days of Awe, which is a time of cleansing and purification. Tomorrow, Sept 15th is Yom Kippur.
Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is the Highest Holy Day of the Hebrew year. I think it’s beautiful that the Lord positioned this day directly in between the Feast of Trumpets and Feast of Tabernacles. On this day, the priests would take an unblemished lamb and place its blood inside the Tabernacle for forgiveness of the sins of the people.
Thankfully, in the book of Hebrews, it shows us that Jesus took His own blood and sprinkled it on the mercy seat in the heavenly tabernacle. This heavenly tabernacle, built by the hands of God, exists today. It is eternal.
Jesus became our ultimate sacrifice and shed His blood for you. He went to the Holy of Holies to make a way for us to be reconciled with God. Therefore, we no longer have to physically sacrifice an animal to cover our sins. We can just ask for forgiveness.
Stay intentional and focused as you finish up the final day in this period of cleansing and purification. Step into the Day of Atonement with a right heart. Allow God to come in and heal you. Let Him reveal things and renew your spirit. God wants you to be excited about who He is and how He created you – special and unique.
Did you know that God set this special time up for you to remember that Jesus Christ shed His blood for you so you could be forgiven, saved and redeemed? It’s true! By the end of the month, you are going to be experiencing great joy! The Feast of the Tabernacles is coming. During the Feast, joy comes in abundance. Bless the Lord for all that He has done and bring Him an offering!
What you’re going through is a process. It’s His plan, and it’s necessary. You are going to be walking in this joy as you have been cleansed, purified and taken the time to remember what Jesus has done for you.
As you’re faithful and do what God is telling you to do, He will set you up. There is a divine setup that is taking place and you are being properly positioned for it. God has double glory and amazing things ready to enter your life.
These Jewish feasts should remind us of our Savior and how much He loves us. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy; but our God comes to bring us abundant life! He overcame sin and death, and He defeated the grave. The dominion of life is no longer the enemy’s; it is yours! The enemy has been defeated.
Every year my husband and I practice the Feasts of the Lord, His appointed times and season, and we always respond to God’s mandate in Deuteronomy 16:16 (KJV) which reads:
“Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the Lord empty: Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee.”
When we bless the Lord in faithfulness by following His commands, He gives to us so much more than we can ever imagine. He doubles our sowing into blessings for the kingdom! If you want to bless the Lord this month and help us support the outreaches of Candice Smithyman Ministries and Dream Mentors International we would be so blessed!
I encourage you today to share this with somebody who needs to know what this special time is about and how it’s a divine setup. God wants to do amazing things in their lives too!
